Newcity publishes a self-contained multi-page comics story in nearly every print issue. Stories have ranged from four to ten pages but we don’t have a predetermined length. We will also publish them online, but are working out a plan for that right now.
We pay $100 a page for the first four pages, and $75 a page for any over four, which covers print and online publication.
We’d like stories to be original to us, but of course they can end up in books, anthologies, etc afterward. We only ask that we have three months before republication in book form, and at least six months before a story shows up in another serial publication like a magazine.
How to Pitch
Proposals should be as detailed as possible, including estimated number of pages. Ideally you’d have rough sketches if not finished pages but we can give feedback on detailed treatments as well, especially for established creators. Send to [email protected]
Dimensions and Specifications
Full page: 8.125” wide x 10.5” tall, full bleed.
Extend the image at least .125″ beyond page size on all sides for bleed.
Non-bleed full page: 8.125” wide x 10.5” tall
