Dedicated E-blast
Dedicated e-blasts are 700 pixels wide by 1,000 pixels tall. Maximum file size is 100k. JPEG or GIF are the preferred formats. Eblast instructions should also include: subject line, link and text version for recipients who do not get html email.
Email Newsletter advertising
Email newsletter ads are Billboards. See the Display – Desktop Units section above.
We offer complimentary design, as long as copy and logos or graphics are provided at least seven days in advance of the campaign’s start. If you are going to design, please send materials to [email protected] by the end of day Wednesday prior to the campaign’s start.
PRINT SPECIFICATIONS
Advertising Dimensions Width x Height
Full-page (bleed): 8 inches wide x 10.5 inches tall, full bleed. Plus, extend the image at least .125 inches beyond page size for bleed.
2/3 page: 4.63 inches wide x 9.88 inches tall
1/2 page: 7.06 inches wide x 4.88 inches tall
1/3 page (standard): 4.63 inches wide x 4.88 inches tall
1/3 page (vertical): 2.25 inches wide x 9.88 inches tall
1/4 page: 3.5 inches wide x 4.88 inches tall
How do I submit my files?
Files can be attached to an e-mail and sent to [email protected].
•Title email and file with your company name and issue date.
Example: “thortons_3.12.08.pdf”
•Be sure to include all support files.
•Be sure to check all files for viruses before sending.
What file formats are acceptable?
•Adobe Acrobat PDF files are preferred, since they usually reproduce and print the best.
•JPEGs, TIFFs, or other graphic formats
We will accept ads in these formats, however we cannot guarentee print quality for these formats.
•Production Files ARE Accepted but NOT Preferred:
Illustrator/Photoshop/InDesign/Quark

All fonts and images must be included!
Closing Deadlines: Space must be reserved by Wednesday at 5pm for the following week’s edition. Payment and advertising materials must be received by Friday, two days later, at 5pm. Special issues have earlier deadlines for space, materials and payment.
Production Notes: Ads should be 300 dpi at 100% scale. Compressed images are generally unacceptable. Because of our newsprint format, we cannot guarantee the results of reverses, burns (overprints) and fine type. Ads rarely float and will generally be re-bordered to fit the correct size.
Ads sent by e-mail must conform to Macintosh software. Include all fonts and images (jpeg/eps/tiff). Ads larger than 20 megabytes may not email properly. Newcity is not held accountable for file transfer corruption.
Liability: By advertising, you and your agency represent that your material is properly authorized and that any consents have been obtained. By advertising, you and your agency jointly and severally indemnify New City Communications, Inc. and all of its employees against all legal claims, actions and expenses. We reserve the right to reject any material we deem inconsistent with our standards.
