Newcity is pleased to announce that Nicky Ni has been appointed assistant editor of Newcity. In that role she’ll work closely with the managing editor and editor to help manage the daily operations of the magazine, both its print and digital editions, along with its regular email newsletters.
Ni is a Chinese expat living and working between Chicago and Beijing. She writes and organizes exhibitions and screenings. She has done stuff at Chicago Artists Coalition, Conversations at the Edge, Museum of Contemporary Photography, Mana Contemporary, Chicago Artists Coalition, and other venues. She programmed the 33rd Onion City Film Festival and is currently working on the anniversary exhibition of the Lit & Luz Festival. She regularly contributes to Newcity and other publications. Nicky graduated from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Northwestern University. Her upcoming curatorial project, Cocktail Hours, for the Arts Club’s drawing room opens in September.
