With the Chicago Architectural Biennial’s debut coinciding with Chicago Artists Month, this fall’s CAM programming will be in dialogue with the biennial, asking the local arts community to envision “The City as Studio”: Chicago as a city for experimentation, innovation and production.
Now in its third iteration, the Chicago Artists Month publication, a partnership between the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) and Newcity, is the definitive guide to the 300-plus events that take place throughout the city in October as part of Chicago Artists Month.
Sixty thousand copies of the publication will be distributed in three phases: insertion into the October 1 Chicago Architecture Biennial issue of Newcity, street-teamed to select locations around Chicago and available at all of the city’s key cultural and tourist properties, including the Chicago Cultural Center.
The publication’s format is a 32-page glossy magazine, filled with details on all the city-wide events throughout the month of October as well as dynamic photo spreads of a diverse group of featured artists.
