Newcity is thrilled to announce Zach Freeman as our new assistant theater editor. In this role, Zach will work closely with editor Brian Hieggelke in planning and executing Newcity’s legendary coverage of Chicago theater.
Zach has a BA in Theatre from the University of Texas at Austin and an MS in Computer Science from the University of Chicago (so he can reduce most plays to a quadratic equation). He’s been writing about theater in Chicago since 2008; with Newcity for the past three years. At one point he had aspirations to be an actor and he confesses that you can still find embarrassing pictures of him on IMDB.
Zach is also the chief running writer for Newcity.
